AMD has released the Catalyst 13.6 Beta graphics driver for the HD 5000 series and above on Windows Vista, 7 and 8. This beta adds support for the new A10, A8, A6, and A4 Series APUs, improves AMD Enduro, adds OpenCL 1.2 acceleration in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, adds support for AMD Wireless Display in Windows 8, and has bug fixes.

A new Version 4.02.4115 of the free CCleaner system cleaning utility has been released. This update adds support for several utilities including Foxit Reader 6.0, improves cleaning in several programs including IE 10 and Firefox, and contains other minor improvements and bug fixes.

Nvidia has released the 320.18 WHQL certified graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 8 and higher graphics cards under Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. It improves performance in Metro: Last Light, and provides support for the new GeForce GTX 780 graphics card. The driver package also contains the 9.12.1031 PhysX drivers, and replaces the optional Nvidia Update component with the GeForce Experience utility.

Microsoft has confirmed at a JP Morgan Conference that the upcoming Windows Blue upgrade to Windows 8 will officially be named Windows 8.1, will be free, and available via the Windows Store. It is due out by the end of the year, but a public preview will be released on 26 June.

Mozilla has released Version 21.0 of the Firefox browser. The most significant changes are the addition of a Firefox Health Report feature, and automatic suggestions for improving startup time, along with graphics performance improvements and bug fixes. Microsoft has updated the Windows Essentials 2012 package, which contains a range of programs including Windows Live Mail, Movie Maker and Photo Gallery. Changes include the removal of Messenger, Skydrive replacing Live Mesh, and the fact that Family Safety won't install on Windows 8.

Internet Explorer 8 Security Vulnerability

Microsoft has announced that a Security Vulnerability exists in Internet Explorer 8, and is now being exploited on the Internet. A patch will be issued shortly. For now, either follow the instructions in the link above as a workaround, or upgrade to IE9 or IE10, where possible, to resolve the issue.
