Borderlands 2 Tweak Guide

The Borderlands 2 Tweak Guide is now live at GeForce.com. As promised, NVIDIA has fast-tracked the editing and approval process so that the guide could be released earlier than has been the case in the past. Hopefully it will be of some use to Borderlands 2 players.
AMD Catalyst 12.9 Beta

AMD has released the Catalyst 12.9 Beta graphics driver for the HD 5000 series and above on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. This driver adds support for AMD Enduro Technology, has a redesigned Catalyst Control Center, improves performance in Lost Planet 2, and contains bug fixes.

Google has released Version 22.0.1229.79 of the Chrome browser. This update adds Mouse Lock API availability for Javascript, has Windows 8 enhancements and HiDPI/Retina improvements, and contains security and bug fixes.

AMD Catalyst 12.6 Legacy

AMD has released the Catalyst 12.6 Legacy graphics driver for the HD 2000 - 4000 series on Windows 8. However this driver is not WHQL certified and only supports WDDM 1.1, not WDDM 1.2.

Microsoft has released two non-critical Windows Updates. The first is an Update for Windows 7 which resolves issues with opening an .oxps file. The second is a new version of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista and 7.

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 is currently having a staggered release in different regions around the world. The game can best be described as a space western-themed loot-and-shooter with RPG elements and comic-book style graphics. I'm doing a tweak guide for the game to be released on GeForce.com soon. For now, I've uploaded an HD YouTube Video which demonstrates basic gameplay and game mechanics.

Since I'm getting a few emails about this, it's worth repeating that yes, I am working on a TweakGuides Tweaking Companion for Windows 8. It's going quite well at the moment, but I can't give a firm due date - late November is my current estimate. Furthermore, I will have to set the TGTC aside for a period to do some game guides for Nvidia in coming months. The first game guide I've begun working on is for Borderlands 2, and we are trying to expedite it so that it is available as soon as possible after the game's official release next week.

Nvidia has released the 306.23 WHQL certified graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 6 and higher graphics cards under Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. It contains support for TXAA on the GTX 600 series, improves game performance on GeForce 400, 500 and 600 series cards, adds Ambient Occlusion support for several new games, adds SLI and 3D Vision profiles, and supports the upcoming Borderlands 2. The driver package also contains the 9.12.0604 PhysX drivers.
