Nvidia GeForce 416.64 Hotfix

Nvidia has released the 416.64 Hotfix graphics driver. This driver is for the GeForce 600 series and above under Windows 7, 8 & 10. It fixes issues in Far Cry 5, Monster Hunter World, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and a general audio issue.

The Windows 10 October 2018 Update which recently came out has been causing a range of issues, some of which Microsoft has acknowledged and issued fixes/workarounds for, including the data loss issues discussed earlier, HP PCs Blue-screening, and now, some users complaining of losing audio after installing the update. Long-time readers may know that I have a very dim view of Microsoft's anti-consumer antics in recent years, so rather than rehash old complaints, I will simply say that I strongly advise you to delay the installation of Windows 10 updates for as long as possible, because clearly, Microsoft is not beta testing these updates properly. It's true that all software is susceptible to bugs, but when a company insists on rolling out two major updates each year, and worse still, forcing, even tricking, users into upgrading, while severely cutting back on quality control, it is an inevitability that these sort of issues will occur. Microsoft is not doing this to make your life easier, they're doing it to make their bottom line healthier.

Nvidia has released the 416.34 WHQL certified graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 600 and higher graphics cards under Windows 7, 8 and 10. It provides the optimal experience in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, SOULCALIBUR VI, and GRIP. The driver also contains PhysX version 9.18.0907 and GeForce Experience version 3.15.0.

Microsoft has released its monthly set of Windows security updates which you can view here and obtain via Windows Update. This includes the latest Windows 7 Rollup and Windows 8.1 Rollup updates, as well as Windows 10 Cumulative Updates.

Adobe has released Version 31.0.0.122 of the Flash Player plugin for browsers. To download the full offline installer, use these links depending upon your browser: Internet Explorer or Firefox or Opera. Use Windows Update to update the built-in Flash Player in IE11 under Windows 8 and 10, and Edge under Windows 10. Update to the latest version of Chrome to update its built-in Flash Player.
Windows 10 October 2018 Update

Microsoft has announced that it is pausing the rollout of the next major version of Windows 10, known as the Windows 10 October 2018 Update. The Windows 10 Update History page notes that the reason for this is the numerous problems reported with the update.
Update: A Microsoft representative says that if you still have files in your Docs folder (presumably \users\[username]\Documents\) after installing the update, then you are not affected by the file deletion issue.

Nvidia has released the 416.16 WHQL certified graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 600 and higher graphics cards under Windows 10. It provides support for the Windows 10 October 2018 Update including the public release of DirectX Raytracing (DXR). The driver also contains PhysX version 9.18.0907 and GeForce Experience version 3.15.0.
Update: Apologies, I listed Windows 7 and 8 when this driver is Windows 10 only.
