Mozilla has released Version 13.0 of the Firefox browser. The most significant changes are a new default home page with quicker access to key features, frequently visited sites shown on new blank tabs, a new Reset Firefox button for easier resolution to major problems, background tabs from previous sessions now only load on demand to speed up startup time, and default support for the SPDY protocol. Gamers would be well aware that the highly-anticipated Max Payne 3 has just been released. It's a story-driven graphically advanced game, and I've uploaded an HD YouTube Video which provides sample gameplay at maximum settings. I'm currently preparing a guide for the game, to be released as usual on Nvidia's GeForce.com in coming weeks. Note that some versions of the game do not allow utilities with overlays like FRAPS or EVGA Precision to work. I can confirm however that the Steam version of the game does allow these, which is how I captured the video and am doing performance measurement and screenshots for the guide. I have no workaround to display an FPS counter for affected versions right now, but to take screenshots you can use the PrtScn key during the game and ALT+TAB out of it to paste that shot into an image utility.

Microsoft has released the Release Preview of Windows 8 to the public. This is basically a release candidate which is close to the final version of Windows 8, set for retail release towards the end of 2012. The download weighs in at 2.5 GB for the 32-bit version, and 3.3 GB for the 64-bit version.
