CCleaner 5.46

A new Version 5.46.6652 of the free CCleaner system cleaning utility has been released. This update adds a separate control for the reporting of usage data and a factsheet on the data CCleaner reports back to Piriform, renames the Monitoring feature to Smart Cleaning, and provides bug fixes.

Nvidia GeForce 399.07 WHQL

Nvidia has released the 399.07 WHQL certified graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 600 and higher graphics cards under Windows 7, 8 and 10. It provides the optimal experience for the Battlefield V Open Beta, F1 2018, Immortal: Unchained, Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, Strange Brigade and Switchblade. The driver also contains PhysX version 9.17.0524 and GeForce Experience version 3.14.1.

Foreshadow Vulnerability

Intel has revealed another major security vulnerability in its CPUs, similar to the Meltdown/Spectre vulnerabilities revealed at the start of this year. This one is formally known as the L1 Terminal Fault (L1TF) vulnerability, and has been dubbed Foreshadow. It affects most Intel CPUs, as listed at the bottom of this Intel Security Advisory. Once again, although no current real-world exploits of the vulnerability have been found, microcode and operating system updates are expected to mitigate this threat. Intel claims that these updates will have no meaningful performance impact. AMD CPUs are currently thought not to be affected by this vulnerability.
Microsoft Security Updates

Microsoft has released its monthly set of Windows security updates which you can view here and obtain via Windows Update. This includes the latest Windows 7 Rollup and Windows 8.1 Rollup updates, as well as Windows 10 Cumulative Updates.

Adobe has released Version 30.0.0.154 of the Flash Player plugin for browsers. To download the full offline installer, use these links depending upon your browser: Internet Explorer or Firefox or Opera. Use Windows Update to update the built-in Flash Player in IE11 under Windows 8 and 10, and Edge under Windows 10. Update to the latest version of Chrome to update its built-in Flash Player.

Nvidia has released the 398.98 Hotfix graphics driver. This driver is for the GeForce 600 series and above under Windows 7, 8 & 10. It fixes stability issues with LA Noire VR and resolves stuttering in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Beta.
