Nvidia GeForce 372.70 WHQL

Nvidia has released the 372.70 WHQL certified graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 400 and higher graphics cards under Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10. It provides the best experience in World of Warcraft: Legion, Battlefield 1: Open Beta, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Quantum Break. The driver package contains PhysX version 9.16.0318 and GeForce Experience version 2.11.4.

Cumulative Updates for Windows 7 & 8.1

Microsoft has announced that starting in October 2016, Windows 7 and 8.1 will no longer receive individual security, feature and reliability updates. These updates will instead all be delivered in a single Monthly Rollup package, much like Windows 10's monthly Cumulative Updates.



CCleaner 5.21

AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.8.2

AMD has released the Crimson Edition 16.8.2 driver for the HD 7700, HD 8500 series and above on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. This driver adds support for No Man's Sky and Paragon Open Beta, and provides bug fixes.



Intel Skylake Support on Windows 7 & 8.1

Microsoft has announced that is reversing its decision to restrict Intel Skylake support to Windows 10, and will now support the 6th generation Intel Core CPUs on Windows 7 and 8.1 until their end of support date of 2020 and 2023 respectively.

AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.8.1

AMD has released the Crimson Edition 16.8.1 driver for the HD 7700, HD 8500 series and above on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. This driver adds support for the Radeon RX470 and RX460 GPUs, a new CrossFire profile for F1 2016, and provides a range of bug fixes.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update Problems

Quite a few people have been reporting serious issues with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, such as the system completely freezing. I agree with articles like this one on InfoWorld that the Anniversary Update should not be installed, with more details on several methods of how to block it from automatically installing in the aforementioned article. I've blocked the Anniversary Update on my own system. Forced buggy updates are just one of the reasons why I do not recommend using Windows 10.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Microsoft has released a major Update for Windows 10. Technically it is Version 1607 of Windows 10, but it is dubbed the Anniversary Update. This is a free update for all Windows 10 users, containing a large number of changes and fixes, as detailed in this article. This major update will install automatically on all existing versions of Windows 10 via Windows Update, or you can download a new ISO of Windows 10 including the Anniversary Update as detailed here. If you wish, you can delay its installation for several months on Windows 10 Professional or Enterprise by going to Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update>Advanced Options and ticking the 'Defer upgrades' box.
