AMD has released the Catalyst 11.4c Hotfix graphics driver for Windows XP, Vista and 7. This driver resolves intermittent flickering issues seen in several games when using an HD 6600 series graphics card in DirectX 9 mode.

Microsoft has released a new version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool, designed to scan for the most common malware. This tool is usually released on the second Tuesday of every month as part of 'Patch Tuesday', but this appears to be an out-of-cycle release. There's a 32-bit and 64-bit version of the tool available.

Nvidia has released the 270.61 WHQL certified driver. This driver is for GeForce 6 and higher desktop cards. It adds support for the new GeForce GTX 500 series cards, and improves performance on the GTX 400 and 500 series in several games. The driver also has Nvidia Surround improvements, incorporates the 3D Vision driver in the core driver package, adds a new Nvidia Update checking feature, along with other changes and fixes. The driver package also contains the 9.10.0514 PhysX drivers.
